The Story Behind the Space
Yoga was never meant
to be a luxury.
Before it was a $40 drop-in class or a boutique studio membership, yoga was passed freely — teacher to student, community to community, an offering with no price tag. Somewhere along the way, the wellness industry changed that. And the people it was always meant to serve got left outside the door.
Sujata became a certified yoga teacher to change that. As a single mother of three, she knows what it means to pour yourself out every day and have nothing left over for yourself. She knows the cost — not just in dollars, but in access, in time, in feeling like spaces like this just weren't built for you.
"Yoga belongs to every woman who's ever been told a room like this wasn't for her. That's exactly who I built this space for."
Suja's Space exists to close that gap — free, recurring community yoga for the people who need it most. Minorities, women of color, and single moms especially. No membership required. No barrier. Just a mat, some open sky, and a teacher who genuinely shows up for you.
